i was blog hopping..saw some MOE scholar's blog...unfortunately. i'm glad i switch off. i don't constantly write in a quasi-academic manner, such that the reader is terribly bored, and therefore i have done a bad job. though come to think of it, if my honours paper sounds this fucking boring, interjected with too many therefore's and such that's, i wouldn't be too surprised about failing. maybe i'm just a dour puss. at least i'm not a boring dour puss.
when i teach english..i'll teach my kids alternative methods of emphasizing points and reaching conclusions. no thus, therefore, such that, therefore, thus, such that, therefore. which reminds me.. i taught this sec 1 class about food reviews, looking out for words that are characteristic of food reviews, and then getting them to write their own reviews. i actually said "nice is not a word!" wouldn't it irk you if you had to read 40 food reviews about that nice canteen stall? i actually kinda enjoyed teaching. i'm pretty sure when it's my turn to teach, i'll have wayyyyyy more than just two classes a day. i'll also have administrative nonsense, intensive 17-page lesson plans to do, a ton of marking everyday, and occasionally setting quizzes. oh but that would beat sitting around on my fat lazy ass, bemoaning the sorry state of the world.
by the way, yay for darfur! a new legislation was passed by the US house of representatives. maybe there is hope after all.
